DESCRIPTION:Our Strategic Plan clearly identifies “protecting and enhancing the environment” as one of council’s Highest priorities. The time to take action against litter is now.    On the weekend of April 23th – 25th, the Town of East Gwillimbury will be launching the 4th annual Town-Wide Litter Clean Up Event. We are asking concerned citizens, local business owners, service clubs, and schools to participate by volunteering a couple of hours of time to clean up our town.    As an added incentive to get involved, any individual, group, school or business that registers to participate for the event will get their name placed on a ballot for a chance to win some environmentally-friendly gifts. You can register for the event by visiting the Customer Care Department in the Civic Centre, by phone to 905-478-4282, or by going to http://www.eastgwillimbury.ca/Environment/Town-Wide_Litter_Clean-Up_2010.htm.     Spread the word to friends and neighbours; anyone and everyone are welcome to help with this important event. To make this Town-Wide litter Clean Up project a success, we require support from all areas of the community.
