SUMMARY:Tony Browning Conducts Concert - St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Newmarket
DESCRIPTION:Aurora's Tony Browning will be a busy man on Sunday, March 27 when he conducts two of his local musical groups in a concert in Newmarket. York Chamber Ensemble joins forces with Tapestry Chamber Choir in a concert exploring masterpieces of the Baroque period. Twelve musicians from York Chamber Ensemble will accompany the choir in three major works including Vivaldi's Gloria and Monteverdi's Beatus Vir. The baroque period in music is considered to occur between 1600 and 1750 and both these composers are major contributors to the genre. The choir will also perform other baroque pieces on its own. The concert takes place on Sunday, March 27 at 3 p.m. at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Newmarket. Tickets cost $20 and $15 for seniors. Tapestry Chamber Choir has been performing in Newmarket since 1988 and the York Chamber Ensemble performs regularly in Trinity Anglican Church in Aurora. We hope that followers of the York Chamber Ensemble will come and enjoy the additional richness of hearing them with Tapestry. It is like two concerts for the price of one, Mr. Browning said.
