From the sweetness of It’s a Wonderful Life to the mad-rush of holiday shopping, 2000 Candles is a quirky musical-comedy that takes a “reverently irreverent” look at the trappings of trappings of the Christmas season.    “We riff on Christmas trees and turkeys,” says actor and writer Richard Peters, “There’s a two-minute mash up of all of the great Christmas television specials in there, including the Grinch, Christmas Story, and Christmas Carol. We even put in Mr. Hanky from South Park’s Christmas. It’s all there.”    The professional, four-actor production includes sketches, comedy, beat-poetry and both original and traditional Christmas music. Peters says 2000 Candles aims to find both the humor and significance in how we celebrate Christmas.    “It’s not about lampooning,” he says, “It’s about putting under the microscope a lot of the ideas we have about Christmas.
