THE THIRD ANNUAL WORDS ALIVE LITERARY FESTIVAL celebrates a rich literary heritage providing a showcase for contemporary writers and poets on the local, regional, and national scene in Canada.

Words Alive is a non-profit organization with a strong mission statement: “To act as a catalyst in our community that will bring together, stimulate, encourage and support all writers and readers.”

We have an incomparable (and virtually weatherproof) venue in the Sharon Temple National Historic Site and Museum and offer a diverse program with wide appeal and that is both family-friendly and easy on the budget.

In addition to our lineup of authors and poets, we have exciting workshops, musical acts, an open mic for the public, an on-the-spot poetry contest, and much more!

Admission is only $5 for age 16+. Those under 16 are admitted free.
Parking is also free.
Workshops are FREE courtesy of the Town of East Gwillimbury. Door prizes.

There are food and refreshment vendors on site, but you are welcome to bring a picnic lunch.

Lots of books and prints will be available for purchase.
