On Saturday, March 27, 2010, at 8:30pm, the Town of Georgina will join cities around the world by participating in “Earth Hour” whereby everyone is encouraged to literally “turn out the lights” by shutting off all non-essential lighting in all homes and businesses for exactly one hour.
This initiative, established by the World Wildlife Fund, is an effort to raise awareness about climate change and to symbolize that by working together, the people of the world can make a difference in the fight against global warming.
