Veteran Appreciation Day happens in Aurora this Saturday, the 65th anniversary of VE Day.
The Town of Aurora, with the assistance of the Aurora Legion, Fred Tilston VC Branch 385, will present the event with a Cenotaph Ceremony at 3.30 p.m. followed by an appreciation dinner and dance beginning at 6.30 p.m. at the Branch on Industrial Parkway North.
Events scheduled for the cenotaph include a drumhead service, consecration of cenotaph renovations, a Town of Aurora proclamation and the laying of wreaths.
Dinner entertainment will be provided by the 7th Toronto Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery Band.
