A talented if little recognized jazz pianist when his composition “Cast Your Fate to the Wind” achieved hit status in 1962, Vince Guaraldi was then commissioned to score the first Peanuts television special, A Charlie Brown Christmas.
Guaraldi’s spare and infectious melodies became an essential component of the TV specials until his death in 1976, and that original Peanuts score remains a seasonal favourite.
The Robert Scott Trio’s two performances of this program in 2009 at Toronto’s Old Mill were incredible sold-out successes and were recorded for broadcast by Jazz.FM91.
