Details:Following up on the phenomenally successful, first-ever, community cultural forum on November 1st, 2010, a 2nd forum is scheduled for Tuesday, February 1st, 2011 at De La Salle Chapel in Jackson’s Point, from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. Attendees will explore the potential of our many festivals and events to contribute to our quality of life and economic development.
From music festivals to historic re-enactments, Georgina is home to numerous special events and festivals. Despite the number of incredible events that take place every year, many festival and event organizers remain frustrated that their countless hours and unceasing efforts have not translated into the audience turnout, revenue stream, sponsorships and media attention that they had hoped for.
In recognition of the potential for Georgina to become a festival and event destination within the GTA and beyond, the 2nd community cultural forum will allow participants to discuss how our festivals and events can realize their goals through increased collaboration and greater cross-sectoral partnerships. The transformations we hope for can only be realized through a “see it, live it, share it” approach to event and festival planning.
By sharing resources, expertise and experience, our events and festivals can only prosper, and, in the process, vastly enhance Georgina’s tourism and creative sectors. Please join us on February 1st to learn how we can work together to develop a new strategy for festival and event management.
