Woodland Owners’ Association of York (A chapter of the Ontario Woodlot Association)
Interested residents and woodland owners are invited to participate in the formation of a new regional woodland association in York Region and area (a chapter of the Ontario Woodlot Association). Local forest owner, and OWA member, John Hicks is spearheading the initiative with assistance from the York Environmental Stewardship council ( a local Ontario Stewardship council). Presentations of interest to forest owners will follow a short organizational meeting.

Date: Saturday June 25, 2011
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (Registration at 8:30 a.m.)
Location: York Regional Forest Headquarters, 16389 Hwy #48 (Hollidge Tract) located between Vivian Rd and St. John’s Sideroad on Hwy 48 (east side).
Cost: Free
Agenda
A short meeting will be held to begin the formation of the woodlot association. This will be followed by two key presentations of interest to Woodland Owners………
Woodland Invasive Species (Fraser Smith, Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters)
Woodland Species at Risk (Speaker – to be determined)
