Watergames event slated for August 24 - The Town of Aurora’s Department of Parks and Recreation - Aquatics division, is presenting the 11th annual Watergames event, aimed at promoting water safety later this month. With the high number of water-related deaths that occur every year, the Aquatics division participates in several events that work toward communicating the water safety message to Aurora's community.
One of these events is Watergames, which is held annually with proceeds going to the Lifesaving Society's Water Smart Campaign for drowning prevention. This year, Watergames will be held Wednesday, August 24 during the regular leisure swim from 2 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. at the Stronach Aurora Recreation Complex (SARC). The event is open to Aurora residents and visitors.
Regular admission fees of $2.75 per person apply, with all monies being donated to the Lifesaving Society's Water Smart Campaign. No pre-registration is necessary, but the number of admissions is limited to the pool’s capacity of about 345 people.
