The Al Humphrey Memorial Ride was established in memory of Alan Stewart Humphrey of Al’s Tack Shop in Stouffville. Al and his wife Norma provided their property, Al’s Tack Shop, free of charge as a starting point for fundraising to many charities and non profit association. All lost his battle to cancer in February 2006 and his family and friends have started “Al’s Ride” an annual fundraising event, entirely volunteer driven, to benefit deserving charities selected on an annual basis. This year’s charities are the Stronach Regional Cancer Centre at Southlake Hospital in Newmarket and the Make-A-Wish Canada – Toronto and Central Ontario Foundation.
